It’s Official: North Shore Sauna is the Official Sauna Partner of Hockey Day Minnesota 2026!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that North Shore Sauna has teamed up with the State of Hockey to become the Official Sauna Partner of Hockey Day Minnesota 2026!

If you live in Minnesota, you know two things are certain in January: the ponds are frozen and the hockey is unmatched. But this year, we’re adding a third certainty: the heat will be on.

We are packing up our stoves and heading to Hastings, MN to bring the authentic wood-fired sauna experience to one of the biggest weeks in sports.

A Timeless Tradition: Fire and Ice

While this partnership is new, the connection between outdoor hockey and sauna culture is timeless.

Long before Zambonis and heated arena seats, the game was born on the open ponds, where players battled the elements as much as they battled the opposing team. It wasn't just a sport; it was a way to embrace the winter rather than hide from it.

The sauna shares that same lineage. For thousands of years, in the same northern climates where hockey thrives, the wood-fired sauna has been the hearth of health and survival. It was the place where communities gathered to thaw frozen bones, recover from hard labor (or a hard check), and build resilience against the cold.

Bringing North Shore Sauna to Hockey Day Minnesota isn't just a fun amenity; it’s a reunion of two ancient traditions. It is a celebration of the "North" identity: the grit to play on the pond and the wisdom to recover in the heat.

Join Us in Hastings

Hockey Day Minnesota 2026 is taking place at the United Heroes League outdoor rink in Hastings, MN from January 17–24, 2026.

We will be on-site all week long, keeping the "bench" warm for you. Come find the North Shore Sauna village, where we have two different ways for you to get warm:

• The Warming Station (The Dome): We will have our Dome sauna fired up and warm all week long. It’s the perfect spot to step inside, escape the biting wind, and grab a quick break from the cold without needing to fully gear down.

• The Full Sauna Experience (The Nova): For those looking to get the true experience, our Nova tents will be fired up to peak sauna temperatures. If you are ready to sweat and experience the high heat of a wood-burning stove, this is where you want to be.

We are honored to support the players, the fans, and the local community. So, pack your skates, grab your jersey, and maybe bring a towel because Hockey Day just got a whole lot hotter.
