The product works well once you figure it out, but the directions could be much clearer. I figured it was a no brainer just put 3-5 crystals in your bucket of water and they dissolve easily but not true.
The package says to "melt in a cup of water,” so i was a little confused at first when it said a cup of water…..but that's misleading for actual use. These crystals don't melt quickly or easily in tap water—you really need **warm (or hot) water**, and it takes some time and stirring for them to fully dissolve.
The correct method is: Put a few crystals in your sauna bucket filled with warm water, let them melt completely (be patient—it doesn't happen instantly), then use the ladle to pour the scented water over the hot rocks for that great steam release.
Just plan ahead and give it a few extra minutes for dissolving. Once you know the real process, it's effective and adds a nice touch to the sauna experience. Worth it, but the instructions need improvement! They need to also make even m ore clear or in BOLD DO NOT TOUCH WITH YOUR HANDS AND TOUCH YOUR FACE AS IT WILL BURN YOUR EYES!! WASH HANDS AFTER TOUCHING CRYSTALS. i accidently touched my face after touching the crystals and boy burning sensation instantly. So product is good but not great instructions..I am not sure yet if i like it better than the ecualyptus oil i currently use. For maximum eucalyptus-specific benefits (stronger sinus relief, deeper airway opening, more authentic eucalyptus scent, and potentially better antibacterial/anti-inflammatory effects from higher eucalyptol concentration): Pure eucalyptus essential oil I think wins. It's the go-to classic for sauna aromatherapy focused on respiratory health — many sources call it one of the best or most popular options for exactly that.
Ice crystals are awesome if you love the cooling menthol hit (which can feel more dramatic and refreshing in a hot sauna), They're convenient and i like the cool skin feeling but appears to be a little less potent than the straight eucalyptus action.
We absolutely love the sauna ice. It clears your sinus and makes you feel so good after. It’s an experience to use the ice and we plan on buying more for friends and family who have saunas.

This addition to the sauna experience is like no other. If you have enjoyed your sauna experience, water on the rocks for steam - you need this! Just a few little flakes is all you need. Dissolve in water and enjoy the nasal passages being cleared. For sure a normal part of the experience now.
This stuff is great. Only 4 stars because the directions are slightly inaccurate, likely due to something lost in translation. The package directions say to put 3-5 crystals per sauna cup…I thought they meant ladle (cup) and add some before throwing it in the stones…HOLY MENTHOL BATMAN! Cleared my head out and very tingly on the skin…but too much. Researching after online it means a few crystals PER BUCKET, big difference! Then, online it warns not to keep it in the sauna while hot. Well, it doesn’t say that on the package so I did and it melted into a lump. A hammer fixed it but if it had been on the package it would have been helpful. 4 stars for direction clarity. Don’t be dumb like me…but still buy it, it’s refreshing!
