Hi Mike,

We don’t sell a thermometer with a wooden back so can’t speak to that one specifically but it is likely that area is staying damp due to that thermometer being pressed up against the tent fabric. Be sure to dry out the interior of the tent to prevent any mold from growing.

We suggest using warm soap and water with a soft rag to wipe down the interior of the tent.

If you use plastic 5-gallon buckets, be sure to keep them far enough away from the stove as the plastic can become soft if it gets too warm.
If kept far enough away from the stove, they may remain cool enough near the floor to be safe and practical, but we recommend our folding sauna bench as a bench you can be confident in. It will also greatly improve the sauna experience.

what do you suggest to clean sauna’s interior? I notice the wood back of the thermometer getting little mold spots and in turn the interior wall where the thermometer’s sleeve is at getting small mold spots.

Also, i noticed some users using 5 gallon buckets to support a wood bench in the interior of the sauna. Is the plastic okay to have in the sauna…. leeching chemicals?
